EXO-CBX members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin have filed a lawsuit against their agency, INB100, seeking confirmation that their exclusive contracts are invalid and requesting that their contracts be suspended.
The Seoul Central District Court held a hearing on Sept. 7 for EXO-CBX's application to suspend the contracts. The hearing ended in less than 10 minutes because no representative from INB100 attended. The company has reportedly not submitted written materials since the application was filed.
EXO-CBX's side said INB100 representative Cha Ga Won had been arrested and had not contacted them since the application was filed, stating, "Cha Ga Won has been detained and cannot be reached."
Alongside the provisional application, EXO-CBX also filed a separate lawsuit seeking a ruling that the contracts are invalid. If the court grants the application, the contracts will be suspended until the first ruling in the main case.
Baekhyun founded INB100 in June 2023. The company joined Cha Ga Won's One Hundred subsidiary the following year.
EXO-CBX notified INB100 of their decision to terminate their contracts in April, citing issues including unpaid settlement payments after controversies surrounding Cha Ga Won emerged.
Cha Ga Won was indicted last month after being arrested over allegations that she received a large advance payment from Nomos for a business involving intellectual property owned by entertainers under her agency but failed to carry out the project.
The reported damage is about 30 billion won. Her first trial is scheduled for Oct. 13.
