MBC’s A Bona fide Killer has officially entered double-digit territory, reaching a new personal best only three weeks after its premiere.
According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 6 of the Friday-Saturday drama, which aired on August 15, recorded a nationwide household rating of 10.2% and 9.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The nationwide figure rose 0.4 percentage points from Episode 5’s 9.8%, marking the drama’s highest rating so far. It also ranked first among programs airing in the same time slot across all channels.
One particular scene pushed the real-time peak rating even higher to 11.8%.
The drama also performed strongly among younger viewers, recording a 3.5% rating among the key 20-54 demographic and ranking first among all programs broadcast that day in the category.
Episode 6 continued to highlight the teamwork surrounding Yoo Bo Na, played by Gong Hyo Jin, while revealing more about Kwon Tae Sung, played by Jung Joon Won.
Without revealing major plot details, the episode featured another successful operation and an emotional moment for Kwon Tae Sung, who expressed his frustration over feeling unable to punish people he believed had escaped consequences.
He said through tears, “Bad people should be punished, but there’s nothing I can do.”
The episode ended by revealing more about the characters’ past connection, adding another layer to their relationship while setting up the next chapter.
Jung Joon Won previously drew criticism from some viewers over his behavior during a variety show appearance. Gong Hyo Jin later showed support for her co-star, but there is no evidence that the controversy or her response directly affected the drama’s ratings.
With a nationwide rating of 10.2%, a peak of 11.8%, and first place in its time slot, A Bona fide Killer has now achieved its strongest performance since its premiere.
