SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan has personally denied a widely shared story claiming that he prepaid 600,000 won at a restaurant in Jeju for visiting fans.
The story spread online after some fans reportedly received complimentary drinks at a restaurant connected to one of Seungkwan’s acquaintances.
Online posts claimed that the singer had paid in advance so fans could receive the drinks, leading many people to accept the story as true.
However, Seungkwan clarified through a fan communication platform that he had never made such a payment.
He wrote, “I thought for a very long time about whether I should discuss this. I have never prepaid at that restaurant, not even once.”
Seungkwan also said he is no longer in contact with the acquaintance connected to the situation.
The singer explained that his main concern was the possibility of fans being misled or suffering financial harm.
He stated, “I could never accept a situation in which fans are harmed.”
However, Seungkwan made it clear that he was not asking people to avoid the restaurant itself.
He said, “I am not telling anyone not to visit because the food is good. However, I do not want something I never did to continue spreading as a positive story about me.”
Seungkwan also warned fans about people who may falsely claim to know him and offer special access or services.
He emphasized, “Anyone who says they are my friend and can reserve concert tickets for you or connect you with me in exchange for money is lying. I do not do those things.”
He added, “I may occasionally meet someone by chance and pay for their meal, but I will not leave prepaid money somewhere in advance.”
Seungkwan asked anyone who has encountered impersonation or similar financial harm involving his name to contact his agency by email.
Fans responded by supporting his decision to correct the story, noting that even a positive rumor should be addressed when it is not true and could potentially be used to mislead others.
