Chef Kwon Sung Joon could not hide his excitement after finally meeting Girls’ Generation member and actress Sooyoung.
Sooyoung appeared with singer and actress Uhm Jung Hwa as a guest on the August 2 episode of JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Since 2014.
When Sooyoung entered the studio, Kwon Sung Joon immediately appeared shy and nervous. Host Kim Sung Joo revealed that one person had been waiting especially eagerly for her appearance.
He said, “There is someone here who almost hurt his neck while waiting for you.”
Kwon Sung Joon previously revealed during YoonA’s appearance on the program that he was a longtime Sooyoung fan. His fan community nickname was reportedly “Sooyoung’s husband.”
Sooyoung responded, “I was so happy when I watched that episode.”
Kwon Sung Joon then introduced himself but struggled to hide his nervousness.
He said, “First, let me introduce myself. I am chef Kwon Sung Joon. My heart is beating so fast today. I cannot look you in the eyes.”
Sooyoung recalled that she believed she had fewer individual fans during Girls’ Generation’s early years compared with some of the other members.
She said, “At the time, I did not have many fans. Taeyeon, Tiffany, and YoonA had many fans. There were so few fans supporting me that I could remember their nicknames.”
Kwon Sung Joon also explained why Sooyoung became his favorite member.
He said, “My arms and legs are short, so I like people with long arms and legs. She has the charm of having the longest limbs in Girls’ Generation.”
He continued, “She also has her own special style when she dances. She is cheerful and cool.”
The light and casual exchange drew laughter as Kwon Sung Joon openly showed his admiration while Sooyoung warmly responded to her longtime fan.
