Actor Kim Do Geon has opened up about working part time in restaurants even after gaining attention through the Netflix drama “Teach You a Lesson”.

Kim Do Geon, who played Kim Kwang Soo in the first episode, recently appeared on the YouTube channel “One Mic” and shared how viewers reacted to his performance.

He said, “Everyone around me responded positively. My friends asked, ‘You have never acted like this before, so how did you do it?’” He added that he received many comments from viewers who praised how realistic his acting felt.

Although the drama became popular around the world, Kim Do Geon explained that his acting schedule is not always full and that he continues to work other jobs to support himself.

He shared, “Actors who do not have filming schedules all the time probably feel the same way. I currently work part time as a cook.”

Kim Do Geon continued, “In the morning, I wash dishes at a Chinese restaurant, help in the dining area, and sometimes cook with a wok. In the evening, I work in a wine bar kitchen and make pasta and steak.”

The actor also spoke about reuniting with Kim Mu Yeol for their third project together. They previously appeared in “Juvenile Justice” and “The Roundup: Punishment.”

Kim Do Geon recalled that Kim Mu Yeol remembered him when they met again. At the script reading for “Teach You a Lesson,” he greeted him by saying, “Brother, I am here,” which made Kim Mu Yeol laugh. He added that they worked well together and enjoyed filming.

Kim Do Geon previously shared a lighthearted social media post after meeting another actor who played a villain in the drama. He wrote, “The villains from episodes 1 and 2 met and even had drinks together.”

He added, “In the drama, the two only caused trouble, but in real life, we became close friends who support each other. The characters were villains, but the actors are good people.”

“Teach You a Lesson” entered Netflix’s Top 10 rankings in 75 countries following its release. Kim Do Geon also received attention for leaving a strong impression despite his limited screen time.

The drama is currently available on Netflix.
