DAY6’s Dowoon personally spoke to fans after being caught up in dating and marriage rumors with YouTuber Yoo Ji Yoo.
On July 3, Dowoon shared his thoughts during DAY6’s 10th anniversary tour “The Decade” encore concert at KSPO DOME in Seoul Olympic Park.
During the concert, Dowoon apologized to fans and said, “As a celebrity, I promised that I would only show you good sides of myself, but I feel sorry because I think I have not been able to keep that promise.”
He continued, “But for 10 years, my heart has never changed even once. I really love all of you so much.”
Dowoon also explained what his fans mean to him, saying, “The reason I exist is because I want to be helpful and give strength to each of you in some way.”
When talking about his future with DAY6 after the recent rumors, Dowoon firmly said, “I will do it for life. Please keep watching me.”
He added, “I will keep my promises well. I will try my best so that I do not harm the people around me, so please continue to watch over me. I love you.”
Dowoon was previously linked to Yoo Ji Yoo in May after online users raised suspicions about alleged couple items, including perfume and keyrings. Marriage rumors also spread after claims that the two had received counseling from a wedding planner.
At the time, JYP Entertainment did not give a detailed response and stated, “We have no separate statement.”
Dowoon debuted as the drummer of DAY6 in 2015 and has continued activities with the band.
