BOYNEXTDOOR is continuing to show strong growth with their first full album “HOME”.
According to Oricon’s latest update on June 16, BOYNEXTDOOR’s first full album “HOME” entered Japan’s weekly album ranking at No. 1 after selling about 159,000 copies in its first week of release in Japan.
With this, BOYNEXTDOOR has now placed all of their first to fifth mini albums, their new full album, and their two Japanese singles within the top 3 of Oricon’s weekly album ranking. Their albums “HOW?,” “19.99,” “No Genre,” and now “HOME” have all reached No. 1.
The group is also showing strong results in Korea. Based on Hanteo Chart, “HOME” sold 1,085,715 copies in its first week, giving BOYNEXTDOOR their fourth consecutive million selling album. The album also ranked No. 1 on Apple Music Korea’s “Popular Albums” chart from June 9 to 14.
Their title track “VIRAL” is also rising on music charts. The song entered Melon’s daily chart at No. 68 on its first day and climbed to No. 33 on the June 14 chart.
After the group performed the song on Mnet’s “M Countdown”, it continued to rise, reaching No. 51 on June 12, No. 41 on June 13, and entering the 30s on June 14.
“VIRAL” also ranked No. 7 on Apple Music’s “Today’s Top 100: South Korea” chart dated June 14 and entered Melon’s weekly chart at No. 50 for the June 8 to 14 tracking period.
“HOME” is described as an autobiographical album that reflects BOYNEXTDOOR’s emotions and memories from their trainee days until now. It is also meaningful because all members took part in the album’s song production for the first time.
Meanwhile, BOYNEXTDOOR is scheduled to appear at the 35th Seoul Music Awards on June 20 at Inspire Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
