Girls’ Generation’s Choi Soo Young made her first official public appearance after her breakup with actor Jung Kyung Ho was confirmed.
On June 13, Choi Soo Young attended the “12th Harmony Marathon with the Visually Impaired” at Peace Plaza in Sangam World Cup Park, Mapo gu, Seoul. The event was also attended by former soccer players Cho Won Hee and Park Joo Ho, comedian Kim Hye Sun and her husband, singer Sean, and others.
Choi Soo Young drew attention as she greeted attendees with a bright smile and warm energy. Since news of her breakup with Jung Kyung Ho was reported on June 9, many eyes were on her first public appearance.
The actress was also seen caring for her father, Choi Jung Nam, who serves as chairman of the Blindness Prevention Movement Headquarters. Choi Soo Young previously shared that her father has been battling retinitis pigmentosa, a rare eye disease, for over 15 years.
Because of this, she has been actively supporting causes for visually impaired people and patients with hereditary retinal diseases. She has served as an ambassador for the Blindness Prevention Movement Headquarters for many years and donated 300 million KRW in 2023 to help fund research for treatments related to blinding diseases.
Choi Soo Young also planned to join the marathon course with the participants. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the welfare of visually impaired people.
Meanwhile, Choi Soo Young and Jung Kyung Ho recently ended their long term relationship. Both sides confirmed the breakup by saying, “The two recently broke up.” The two had been dating since 2012 and were known as one of the entertainment industry’s longest lasting couples before going their separate ways.
