Heo Nam Jun reveals the difficult diet that helps him stay ready for shirtless scenes

Heo Nam Jun has shared the strict diet routine behind his well maintained physique.

On June 3, the actor appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel “YouTube Ha Ji Young,” where he cooked and talked about his daily management habits.

Host Ha Ji Young warmly welcomed him and praised his acting, saying she was surprised while watching him and thought, “How can such a new character appear?” She added that she had wanted to invite him to the show.

During the conversation, Heo Nam Jun brought up Ha Ji Young’s previous comment about avoiding carbohydrates. He said he had planned to make aglio e olio and wondered if it would be okay. Ha Ji Young jokingly replied, “It is a cheat day.”

Heo Nam Jun then revealed that he has also been avoiding carbs. He said, “These days, I also do not eat carbohydrates. So when I am filming, I almost do not eat them.”

The actor explained that Jang Seung Jo introduced him to the carnivore diet while he was struggling to manage his diet during work. He said, “Jang Seung Jo hyung told me about the carnivore diet,” describing it as a low carb, high fat diet focused on animal based foods.

Heo Nam Jun added, “You only eat meat and do not eat anything else. I like it.” He also shared that while filming, his food choices are limited, but being able to eat meat makes the diet more enjoyable.

He surprised everyone by saying, “For the past few months, I can count on one hand the number of times I ate carbohydrates. This is one of them.”

He also revealed his morning routine, which includes concentrated broth made from intestines, olive oil with lemon juice, cabbage juice, and ghee butter with pink salt. He said he used to eat bananas, but stopped because “bananas are also carbohydrates.”

Ha Ji Young reacted by saying, “This is what you have to do to take your shirt off. Not just anyone can do it.”
