Hyeri gets honest about her past acting controversy and reveals how Jo Jung Suk quietly supported her during 'Two Cops'

Hyeri opened up about a difficult time in her acting career and looked back on the support she received from Jo Jung Suk while filming MBC’s 2017 drama “Two Cops”.

On May 30, Jo Jung Suk appeared on Hyeri’s YouTube channel, where the two stars talked about their memories from working together. During the conversation, Hyeri brought up the acting criticism she faced at the time and honestly admitted that she struggled a lot.

Hyeri said, “During ‘Two Cops’ ,I was really bad at acting. I am not saying I am good now either.” She then asked Jo Jung Suk why he never scolded her, saying, “But you never scolded me even once. How could you do that?”

Jo Jung Suk responded by praising Hyeri’s effort. He said, “I know how hard Hyeri works when she works.” He explained that behind the scenes, Hyeri often became emotional because she wanted to do well but things did not always go the way she hoped.

He added, “There were many moments where she cried, got angry, and felt frustrated. That is how hard she worked.” Jo Jung Suk also said, “How could I forget that?”

Hyeri then remembered a moment when she cried during rehearsal. Jo Jung Suk shared that she had been hurt by public reactions after the drama aired. He said, “Because she was upset, she cried during rehearsal in the morning. So I told her, ‘Let’s do it a little later.’”

Hyeri recalled that she went to the car to calm herself down before returning to set. She said, “I quickly calmed myself down and came back, saying, ‘Shall we try now?’”

Jo Jung Suk said he felt sorry for her at the time and added that Hyeri felt like a younger sister to him. Hyeri also shared that she was so tense while filming “Two Cops” that she could not properly watch and learn from Jo Jung Suk’s acting, saying she still feels some regret about that.

The conversation gave fans a deeper look at Hyeri’s past struggles and Jo Jung Suk’s quiet support during a difficult period in her career.
