TWICE has added another major award to their career.

The group won Best Female K Pop Artist at the American Music Awards, held on May 25 local time at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The American Music Awards is known as one of the major music award shows in the United States, along with the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards.

The award is especially meaningful because the winners are chosen fully through fan votes.

TWICE’s win comes as the group continues its biggest world tour yet, “THIS IS FOR.” The tour began in Incheon last July and is set to include 78 shows in 43 cities around the world.

Their North American tour, which wrapped up in Austin last April, brought in about 550,000 fans across 35 shows in 20 cities.

With this, TWICE became the K Pop girl group with the highest audience turnout ever in North America.

The group also made history in Japan by becoming the first foreign artist to hold a solo concert at Tokyo National Stadium.

Over three days, TWICE gathered around 240,000 fans.

Now in their 12th year since debut, TWICE is continuing their global activities with their ongoing European tour.
