Taeyang opened up about the behind the scenes story of BIGBANG’s Coachella stage and his viral shirtless moment.

On May 12, Taeyang appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel “Salon Drip 2”. During the episode, he talked about BIGBANG’s recent Coachella performance, which became a hot topic among fans.

One moment that gained a lot of attention was Taeyang taking off his shirt during his solo stage for “Ringa Linga”. Taeyang explained that it was not planned.

He said, “I actually did it on the spot.” He added that the video kept appearing online because the moment came out cooler than he expected.

When the MC asked if he was someone who usually enjoys showing skin, Taeyang quickly denied it and said, “That is a misunderstanding. I am actually very embarrassed.” He then laughed and admitted, “There was especially a lot of exposure this time.”

Taeyang also shared that he had some concerns about doing a solo stage at Coachella. Since BIGBANG was given a one hour set, he thought it might be more meaningful to fill the time with group songs.

However, the members gave their opinions, and a solo stage was eventually added. Taeyang said that once they decided to do it, he was already prepared.

He also talked about Daesung’s trot stage, saying with a laugh that he wondered if it would be okay for Daesung to perform trot at Coachella. Still, Daesung’s performance ended up becoming a major talking point as the first trot stage at Coachella.

Taeyang also explained the moment when Daesung appeared to miss his part during the performance. According to Taeyang, it was actually his own part. He said, “I was too excited and missed it. Later, Daesung told me, ‘Hyung, that was your part.’”

He also joked about the moment G-Dragon was seen tapping Daesung, saying it probably felt like G-Dragon was asking, “What is Taeyang doing?”

Taeyang’s honest explanation made fans laugh, especially because he looked charismatic on stage but admitted that he was actually shy about the exposure.
