JTBC’s Still Shining is drawing attention for an unfortunate ratings milestone after becoming the network’s first drama in four years to fall into the 0% viewership range.

According to Nielsen Korea, the March 20 broadcast of Still Shining recorded a 0.9% nationwide rating, officially placing the drama in the 0% range and making it the first JTBC drama to hit that mark since 2022.

The last JTBC drama to post ratings in the 0% range was The One and Only, starring Ahn Eun Jin and Kim Kyung Nam, which ended in February 2022.

That series remained in the 0% range from episode 4 onward, and Still Shining has now unfortunately followed with a similar headline grabbing result.

What makes the situation stand out even more is that Still Shining, led by Jinyoung and Kim Min Ju, was introduced as a youth growth drama centered on young people becoming each other’s emotional support and guiding light.

However, the drama has struggled to build wider momentum with viewers, and its calm tone has not translated into stronger ratings so far.

The result is also renewing discussion around JTBC’s Friday drama slot, which has increasingly gained a reputation as a difficult time period for viewership.

Earlier dramas in the same slot also saw weak numbers, with Good Boy falling to 1.7%, Song Joong Ki’s My Youth dropping to 1.5%, and Seo Hyun Jin’s Love Me slipping to 1.1% before narrowly avoiding the 0% range.

With Still Shining now recording 0.9%, the drama has set an unwanted record for JTBC and is adding to concerns about the network’s current Friday lineup.

There is also no confirmed follow up drama scheduled for the slot after Still Shining, making the future of the time block an even bigger talking point.
