Go Kyung Pyo has shared his heartfelt thoughts following the end of tvN’s “Undercover Miss Hong,” while also surprising fans by revealing that he is preparing to return not only as an actor, but also as a producer.
In the drama, Go Kyung Pyo played Shin Jung Woo, a perfectionist corporate hunter known for his cold logic and sharp judgment.
As the series progressed, his character added more emotional depth to the story, especially through his involvement with the Yeouido Pirates and his complicated connection to Hong Geum Bo (Park Shin Hye).
Following the finale, Go Kyung Pyo looked back on the experience in a Q&A interview and praised the atmosphere on set. He said, “It was a very enjoyable set where many actors worked together under actress Park Shin Hye’s excellent lead,” highlighting the teamwork behind the drama’s successful run.
He also opened up about the challenge of portraying Shin Jung Woo, explaining that the character had strong emotional conflicts, especially in scenes involving Geum Bo.
Go Kyung Pyo shared, “There were many moments when Jung Woo’s beliefs strongly clashed with Geum Bo’s. I thought he was someone who still carried strong memories of love, so even in a short amount of screen time, I wanted to carefully express emotions that matched his changing values.”
He added that he wanted viewers to understand the character beyond a simple good or bad image, saying, “I acted while hoping that the justice Jung Woo believed in would not simply look ‘bad’ to viewers.”
When asked about how similar he is to the role, the actor said he actually feels less like Jung Woo and more like Geum Bo in real life. He explained, “I do not think my sync with Jung Woo is that high. In fact, I think I am more similar to Geum Bo. Even in real life, I tend to accept personal sacrifice for everyone, even if it means I lose a little.”
Go Kyung Pyo also spoke warmly about the cast and the filming atmosphere, saying, “There was always a lot of laughter, and every moment was a chance to learn.” He added that working alongside Park Shin Hye, senior actors, and younger cast members gave him another opportunity to reflect on himself as an actor.
As for what comes next, Go Kyung Pyo revealed that he already has new plans in motion. He said, “I am preparing to meet you again through a new project, and also as a producer,” raising anticipation for the different sides of his career that fans may soon see.
He also expressed gratitude for the drama’s success, saying the love from viewers being reflected in the show’s strong ratings gave him a deep sense of achievement as an actor.
