BTS member V is once again showing his global popularity as a solo artist, with four solo songs receiving Gold certification in Canada.
According to Music Canada, V’s solo tracks Christmas Tree, Slow Dancing, Love Me Again, and FRI(END)S all earned Gold certification in the singles category.
Music Canada awards Gold status to songs that surpass 40,000 units sold, based on combined digital downloads and physical sales.

Among the four songs, Christmas Tree stands out for its long lasting impact. Released in December 2021 during the competitive holiday season, the song became the first Korean OST to enter the US Billboard Hot 100, debuting at No. 79.
It also entered the Holiday Hot 100 at No. 55 and reached No. 1 on the Holiday Digital Song Sales chart, drawing major global attention.
The track was later named one of Billboard’s “30 Greatest Christmas Songs of the 21st Century” for two consecutive years, making it the only K pop song on the list.

Songs from V’s first solo album Layover, including Slow Dancing and Love Me Again, also reached Gold status. Love Me Again became V’s first solo song to pass 1 billion streams on Spotify, officially entering Spotify’s Billions Club, highlighting his strong digital performance.
Meanwhile, FRI(END)S achieved impressive chart results even without active promotions. The song debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 at No. 65, reached No. 3 on Billboard Global (excluding the US), and No. 5 on the Global 200 chart. It also entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 13 and remained on the chart for two weeks, proving steady international interest.
With four solo songs now certified Gold in Canada, V continues to strengthen his presence as a global solo artist, showing lasting appeal across charts and platforms worldwide.
