SEVENTEEN members Dokyeom and Seungkwan are showing impressive results in Japan as their first mini album records a powerful start on the Oricon charts.

According to Oricon on January 23 (dated January 22), Dokyeom and Seungkwan’s mini album “Soyagok” sold close to 100,000 copies immediately after its release in Japan. With this result, the album debuted straight at No. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking, highlighting strong local fan support.

Their success was already expected. Prior to the physical release, “Soyagok” entered the Top 10 of Oricon’s Weekly Digital Album Ranking, which measures album performance based on downloads. In addition, the title track “Blue” ranked high on Billboard Japan’s Hot Shot Songs chart, showing solid digital interest.

The album’s performance goes beyond Japan. “Soyagok,” a ballad album, recorded an exceptional result for the genre by selling over 520,000 copies on its release day, officially becoming a half million seller. In China, the album also topped the Daily Digital Bestseller Album EP chart on QQ Music, and later entered the Weekly chart at No. 1, proving strong global demand.

With multiple No. 1 rankings across major charts, Dokyeom and Seungkwan’s first mini album is gaining attention as a successful unit release, clearly showing their strong influence not only in Korea, but also in Japan and overseas markets.
