Netflix says No. 2 while TV ratings stay in the 2% range as Kim Hye Yoon and Park Solomon’s “No Tail to Tell” shows mixed but promising results

SBS’s Friday–Saturday drama No Tail to Tell is drawing attention for its contrasting performance on TV and streaming platforms.

As of January 19, No Tail to Tell ranked No. 2 on Netflix’s “Top 10 Series in South Korea Today.” The drama placed ahead of several competing titles airing on other channels, while the Netflix original Can This Love Be Translated? took the No. 1 spot. The ranking highlights the drama’s growing presence on OTT platforms despite tough competition.

However, the picture looks different on terrestrial TV. According to Nielsen Korea, No Tail to Tell premiered on January 16 with 3.7% nationwide ratings, but episode 2 dropped to 2.7%, keeping the series in the 2% range so far.

The numbers stand out even more as the drama follows Taxi Driver 3, which ended with a peak rating of 13.3%. Recent SBS Friday–Saturday dramas have also posted double digit ratings, making No Tail to Tell’s TV start relatively modest by comparison.

Competition in the same time slot remains strong, with rival dramas on MBC, KBS, and tvN steadily climbing in ratings. Despite this, No Tail to Tell’s strong Netflix ranking suggests a different kind of audience response, especially among OTT viewers.

While the drama has yet to see a clear rebound on terrestrial TV, its No. 2 ranking on Netflix is being viewed as a positive signal.

Attention is now on whether this streaming momentum can help No Tail to Tell improve its overall performance in the competitive Friday–Saturday drama lineup.
