BTS member V has reached another major milestone, once again proving his global influence by surpassing 70 million followers on Instagram.
On January 13, V officially became the first Korean male celebrity to reach 70 million followers on the platform.
Since BTS opened their personal Instagram accounts in December 2021, V has shown the fastest growth, quickly standing out among global stars.
According to Guinness World Records, V reached 1 million followers in just 43 minutes and 10 million followers in 4 hours and 52 minutes, setting records that are still unbeaten years later.
His follower growth continues to be one of the fastest in Instagram history.
V’s popularity is also clear in engagement numbers. A photo he shared while serving in the military ranked No. 1 in likes among Korean celebrity posts in 2025, recording 17.73 million likes and over 1.8 million shares.
In the same year, V posted eight photos that each passed 10 million likes, the highest number ever for a Korean celebrity.
His most liked post, a photo of his beloved dog Yeontan, earned over 20.8 million likes and even ranked 18th on Instagram’s all-time most liked posts list.
Data from marketing platform Socialbook shows that V averages 12.7 million likes per post, with a total of 1.9 billion likes overall. His engagement rate of 12.2% ranks No. 1 among global celebrities, far surpassing many world-famous figures, highlighting his strong fan loyalty.
SNS analysis platform HypeAuditor also places V at the top among Asian celebrities for real influencer impact, both worldwide and in key markets like the United States and the United Kingdom.
