Kim Yoo Jung is opening up about the struggles she faced after her hit drama “Moon Embracing the Sun” with Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In turned her into a nationwide star at just 14 years old.
In a new video on the YouTube channel “Fairy Jae Hyung”, the actress looked back on that time and admitted that the sudden fame wasn’t as easy as it seemed.
Jung Jae Hyung recalled how everyone watched Kim Yoo Jung grow up on screen, but few knew the pressure she carried as the “nation’s little sister.”
Kim Yoo Jung revealed that the success of “Moon Embracing the Sun” actually pushed her into one of the hardest periods of her life.
“I think I was about 14. Around that time, everything felt so hard that I thought, ‘This is like a war,’” she shared.

She explained that she didn’t know who she was anymore and needed time alone to process everything.
“There was a month when I didn’t leave my room. I stayed there with the lights off, lying down and asking myself, ‘Who am I?’ and ‘What kind of person am I?’”
The actress also said that she finally understood what senior actors meant when they talked about characters becoming too heavy to escape from.
“While playing difficult roles during that time, I fully felt what they were talking about. And that’s when I started asking myself those deep questions.”
Kim Yoo Jung’s honest story is now gaining attention, showing that even early success can come with hidden struggles.
