Pentagon’s Kino in hot water as fans slam new MV with adult video scene: “Why did he have to do this?”

Pentagon member and solo artist Kino is facing heavy criticism after the release of his latest music video.

On September 26, Kino dropped the MV for “CSC (Club Sex Cigarettes),” a track from his upcoming album “Everybody's Guilty, But No One's To Blame,” which is set for release on October 13.

But instead of excitement, the video has stirred strong backlash among K-pop fans. In one scene, Kino is seen casually eating pizza while watching an adult video — a moment that many viewers found uncomfortable and inappropriate.

Kino explained his artistic choice by saying, “I used obscene and provocative items that are taboo in social life to express emotions like anger and release. The message is that while others may pretend to be nice, I’ll live my life my own way.”

Despite his explanation, fans are not convinced. Reactions online have been overwhelmingly negative, with comments such as:

  • “What exactly did you want to express by showing yourself watching porn? It’s unpleasant.”
  • “It’s shocking that no one thought this would cause controversy before uploading it.”
  • “Someone with so many female fans should be more careful with these kinds of themes.”

Even longtime supporters from his Pentagon days are voicing disappointment. One fan wrote, “Hyung Gu ya, I’ve been cheering for you since ‘Shine,’ but this time I’m really let down. With your talent and influence, you should think carefully about what themes should and shouldn’t be used.”

Another added, “If this is really your honest self, then I can’t keep supporting you anymore. I feel embarrassed that I was once a Universe. I’m so disappointed.”

As Kino gears up for his solo album release, the controversy surrounding the MV has left many questioning whether this was the right direction for the artist.
