Red Velvet’s Wendy has shared her honest thoughts on the viral Golden cover craze.
On the September 4 broadcast of MBC’s Save Me! Holmes, Wendy appeared alongside singer Lee Seok Hoon as they went house-hunting in a neighborhood known for being K-pop–friendly.
During the episode, the hosts mentioned how the OST Golden from the film KPop Demon Hunters had topped the Billboard charts and become a hot topic.

They also highlighted how powerhouse vocalists like Ailee, Jung Eun Ji, Kwon Jin Ah, and Solji had all released covers, creating what fans are calling the “Golden war.”

When asked why she hadn’t joined in, Wendy admitted with a laugh, “Honestly, I was going to join too. But when I practiced at home, I almost fainted. I didn’t want to record it, I wanted to do it live instead.”
Her response made everyone laugh, especially when Joo Woo Jae joked, “That’s why the most loved cover video was from a part-time worker at Baskin Robbins.” Wendy agreed, saying, “That’s right. I saw it too.”
Fans are now wondering if Wendy will surprise them one day with a powerful live cover of Golden.
