Red Velvet’s Wendy revealed the funny reason why she decided not to cover “Golden.”

On the September 4 broadcast of MBC’s Save Me! Holmes, Wendy joined singer Lee Seok Hoon and Yang Se Hyung for a tour of Seoul’s most popular K-pop neighborhoods.

During the talk, Wendy opened up about why she didn’t film a cover of the K-pop Demon Hunters OST Golden, saying, “I tried practicing ‘Golden’ at home, but the notes were so high I thought I was going to faint. I felt I couldn’t do it perfectly, so I didn’t film a cover video. More than anything, I want to show it properly live rather than just in a recording.”

Now in her 11th year since debut, Wendy also looked back on her trainee days, recalling how tough it was to catch up with other trainees after joining SM through a global audition.

Fans praised her honesty, with many saying they’d still love to hear Wendy’s powerful vocals take on Golden one day.
