2PM’s Lee Jun Ho is officially back with a new drama after 2 years, and this time, he’s taking viewers straight into the middle of the 1997 IMF financial crisis.
On August 21, tvN revealed the script reading for its upcoming weekend drama Typhoon Company. The event was attended by director Lee Na Jung, writer Jang Hyun, and lead stars Lee Jun Ho and Kim Min Ha, along with the rest of the cast.
Typhoon Company tells the story of Kang Tae Poong (played by Lee Jun Ho), a free-spirited youth who suddenly becomes the president of a collapsing trading company during the IMF crisis. With no employees, no funds, and nothing to sell, he faces the challenge of survival and growth during one of Korea’s toughest eras.

This project marks Lee Jun Ho’s drama return since King the Land (2023), where he starred opposite Girls’ Generation’s Yoona. In his new role, he shows a different side as his character goes from a carefree “orange tribe” youth to a leader fighting through financial chaos. The production team praised him, saying, “Lee Jun Ho captured the room with his confident presence and emotional depth. He portrayed both the bold and fragile sides of Tae Poong perfectly.”
Joining him is actress Kim Min Ha as Oh Mi Sun, the eldest daughter of her family who dreams of success while carrying the heavy responsibility of supporting her household. Her detailed portrayal of a 1990s Seoul woman has already drawn attention.
The drama also features a star-studded lineup: Kim Min Seok as Nam Mo, Tae Poong’s best friend and leader of the flashy Apgujeong “Orange Tribe”; Lee Chang Hoon, Kim Jae Hwa, Kim Song Il, and Lee Sang Jin as office colleagues who bring both humor and realism; Sung Dong Il and Kim Ji Young as Tae Poong’s parents, showing the struggles of a family hit hard by the IMF crisis; and many more including Kwon Han Sol, Kim Young Ok, Park Sung Yeon, Kim Sang Ho, Moo Jin Sung, and a special appearance by Sung Dong Il.

The production team shared, “Typhoon Company tells the passionate survival stories of ordinary people during the IMF crisis. It will bring memories for Gen X and give the younger generation a chance to understand the perseverance of that time. We hope the spirit of resilience brings hope to today’s viewers as well.”
The drama will premiere this October on tvN.
Meanwhile, Lee Jun Ho also starts a new chapter in his career outside the drama world. After parting ways with JYP Entertainment, he launched his own company O3 Collective on August 18, making fans even more excited for his future.
