G-Dragon, BTS's Jin, The8, Hyunjin, and NCT Wish prove nail art is the hottest new trend for male idols

Nail art is no longer just an accessory for female idols — it’s now one of the hottest fashion trends among male stars, and these idols are leading the way with bold, creative designs.

In the past, a few male idols like TVXQ’s Xiah Junsu, FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki, and EXO’s Xiumin would occasionally show off simple black nails. But last year, a new wave of “male idol nail art” took over — and it all started with BIGBANG’s G-Dragon.

G-Dragon has always been a fearless fashion leader, but with the release of his first solo album in seven years, PO₩ER, he took his nails to the next level.

He went for a colorful mix of yellow, mint, black, white, and red, with each finger designed differently for an unbalanced yet striking style.

He even painted daisy flowers — the symbol of his fashion brand Peaceminusone — proving once again why he’s called a trendsetter.

BTS’s Jin also jumped on the nail art trend earlier this year. In May, during promotions for his second solo mini album Echo, Jin surprised fans by swapping his signature “pure” image for a rocker vibe, complete with sleek black nails that added an edgy twist to his look.

Stray KidsHyunjin showed off his own artistic touch during last year’s Chk Chk Boom promotions. Known for his drawing and painting skills, Hyunjin designed his own nails, mixing white, black, and red for a rock-chic style.

SEVENTEEN’s The8 has been rocking nail art for quite some time, often choosing chic black and red tones with unique patterns that stand out in photos and on stage.

Meanwhile, rookie group NCT Wish didn’t hold back from debut. In their WISH concept photos, they showed off bright and playful nails in their signature fresh colors — green, light green, and white — making them one of the most colorful new acts on the scene.

From edgy black nails to vibrant, artistic designs, these idols are proving nail art isn’t just about beauty — it’s about self-expression, confidence, and making a statement.
