G-Dragon is making waves with his world tour Übermensch, but not all headlines are about the music.
His upcoming concerts in Hong Kong are making headlines for a different reason—scalpers are selling tickets at insanely high prices, and more than 30 fans have already been scammed.
According to Hong Kong news outlet Sing Tao Daily on August 7, scalped tickets for G-Dragon’s concert at the AsiaWorld–Arena—scheduled for August 8 to 10—have become a serious issue. Fans desperate to see the global star have fallen victim to online sellers offering fake or overpriced tickets.
Some VIP seats were reportedly resold for up to 120,000 HKD, which is about 21.11 million Korean won or over \$15,000 USD.
Local police have already received over 30 fraud reports tied to these scalped tickets, sparking backlash from fans and media alike.
G-Dragon has already performed in Seoul, Tokyo, Bulacan, Osaka, Macau, Sydney, Melbourne, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bangkok. After Hong Kong, he’s set to take the stage in Newark, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Paris.
Fans are now calling for stricter ticket monitoring to stop scalpers from ruining the concert experience for others.
