Girls’ Generation’s YoonA opened up about her thoughts on ideal types — and why she doesn’t have a clear answer these days.
On August 4, YoonA appeared on the YouTube show Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong Yeob alongside her The Devil Came on Board co-star Ahn Bo Hyun.
During the episode, Jung Ho Cheol asked the idol-actress, “What kind of person makes your heart flutter?”
YoonA responded with a smile, saying, “In the past, I used to say, ‘Someone who sets the spoon for me.’ I thought I liked people who are caring and considerate.”
But she explained that her thinking changed after a deep conversation with Shin Dong Yeob. “I once asked you, ‘What kind of person is a good person?’ And you told me, ‘There’s no exact answer. You need to know yourself first—only then can you figure out who suits you.’ After that, I haven’t been able to easily answer questions about my ideal type.”
Her honest answer led to some fun teasing. Shin Dong Yeob joked, “There must still be one thing that stays the same — someone who’s just handsome,” making everyone laugh.
YoonA replied, “No, I think it’s more important that we connect well,” but Shin Dong Yeob couldn’t resist adding, “A handsome person you connect well with,” causing even more laughter on set.
Wrapping things up, YoonA said sincerely, “I think the right person for me is someone who calmly accepts all of my expressions—someone who doesn’t get easily shaken.”
