A fake AI-edited video using Netflix’s hit animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters has stirred up major controversy online.
Recently, a disturbing video started spreading on platforms like YouTube. The clip features the song Soda Pop, originally sung by the character group Saja Boys from the movie's soundtrack — but with its lyrics twisted into sexually inappropriate and harassing content.
On July 31, the film’s art director took to social media to speak out, saying, “I’ve confirmed that the problematic ‘Soda Pop’ video has been set to private. If anyone sees a re-upload, please send me the link via DM. I’ll report it again to Netflix’s legal team.”
She continued, “I’m honestly really disappointed. This is content meant for children and families. Why do people have to twist it like this? Please stop embarrassing Korea. Do you know what kind of unfair treatment I endured just to stay loyal to this project?”
She also shared that all reported links and materials have already been submitted to Netflix’s legal team, adding, “It’s probably evening in Korea now, so I hope you can still have a peaceful night.”
K-netizens didn’t hold back their anger, leaving harsh but supportive comments like:
“People like that deserve legal punishment”
“They always choose the lowest path”
“No mercy — sue them and make them pay”
“This is a global disgrace”
“YouTube needs to be held responsible too.”
Netflix and fans alike are taking this issue seriously, as K-Pop Demon Hunters continues to rise as a major franchise for audiences of all ages.
