IU is showing off her boss energy both on and off screen—and fans can’t stop cheering her on!
On July 1, IU gave fans a peek at the amazing support she received on the set of her new drama 21st Century Lady of the Grand Prince (working title). The singer-actress posted photos on her personal social media, showing a coffee truck and meal truck that fans sent to the filming location.
One of the banners on the truck read, “Cheering on capable businesswoman Seong Hee Joo for breaking social status barriers,” referring to IU’s role in the drama. Another cute detail fans loved was the nickname “Jieun-ieous,” a fun mash-up of IU’s real name Lee Ji Eun and the word “genius.”
IU looked proud and playful as she made a heart pose in front of the coffee truck, fully in character as Seong Hee Joo—a rich and powerful CEO-type character in the drama.
21st Century Lady of the Grand Prince is a romance drama that imagines a modern-day Korea under a constitutional monarchy. IU plays a successful woman who was born into wealth, but still faces frustration because of her “commoner” status. Meanwhile, her co-star Byeon Woo Seok plays a prince who is royalty by blood, but lives a sad life because he has no real power or possessions.
With two huge stars—IU and Byeon Woo Seok—leading the drama, the set is always full of support, love, and sweet gifts from fans. It looks like this royal romance is already winning hearts, even before it airs
