BTS member J-Hope is finally opening up about why he couldn’t attend Jo Se Ho’s wedding—and it turns out, the timing just didn’t work out.
In a video titled “Summer festival was just an excuse” uploaded on July 5 to the YouTube channel Ddeun Ddeun, J-Hope reunited with Jo Se Ho and Yoo Jae Suk for some fun and honest conversation.
While chatting, J-Hope complimented Jo Se Ho’s outfit snaps and asked, “I’ve seen you take a lot of OOTD photos lately at your front door. Is your wife taking all those for you?”
Jo Se Ho confirmed with a smile, and Yoo Jae Suk couldn’t help but tease, joking it was all part of a “love marketing” plan.
J-Hope then asked, “How’s married life these days?” Jo Se Ho happily replied, “It’s really great,” showing how much he’s enjoying newlywed life.
Then, J-Hope got a little more serious and finally addressed why he missed Jo Se Ho’s wedding, “It’s been a while since I saw you, hyung, so I didn’t get a chance to say this before. Your wedding… it overlapped with my military discharge.”
J-Hope officially completed his military service in October last year, which happened to be around the same time as the wedding.
When asked how he felt after finishing his service, J-Hope said, “I just feel relieved. Very relieved. It was meaningful in its own way."
He added, "For a year and a half, I paused my main job and lived in a different world, serving in the military.As Jung Ho Seok, the person, I learned a lot from it.”
Fans were touched by his sincere words and appreciated how he took the time to clear up the misunderstanding. Now that he’s back, ARMYs are more excited than ever to see what’s next for J-Hope.
