K-pop girl group ILLIT is making headlines again with amazing success on the Billboard Japan 2025 mid-year charts!
According to Billboard Japan’s report released on June 6, covering the period from November 25, 2024 to May 25, 2025, ILLIT’s debut song “Magnetic” ranked 58th, and their first original Japanese song “Almond Chocolate” came in at 80th on the overall Hot 100 song chart. Impressively, ILLIT is the only K-pop artist with two songs on this big chart.
On top of that, ILLIT placed 36th on the Artist 100 chart, which combines scores from both song and album performances.
“Magnetic” was released back in March 2024 and quickly became a hit in both Korea and Japan. The song did so well last year that it was the highest-ranking track by a foreign artist on Billboard Japan’s annual Hot 100 chart.
It’s back again on this year’s mid-year list! In January, “Magnetic” also earned a Double Platinum streaming certification from the Japan Record Association for surpassing 200 million streams — a record for fastest achievement by any female group, including local Japanese acts.
Meanwhile, “Almond Chocolate” was made as the theme song for the Japanese movie “I Don’t Like You Just by Your Face” released in February.
Thanks to strong word of mouth, the song made a powerful comeback on the charts. It even hit 10th place on Japan’s Oricon Weekly Streaming Ranking for March 31 to April 6, setting a record as the highest-charting K-pop girl group song released this year.
With these great achievements before their official comeback, ILLIT is showing why they are one of the hottest K-pop groups to watch right now!
