SEVENTEEN’s Joshua recently opened up about an unforgettable stage mishap that left him panicking — and it wasn’t just a dance mistake!
On June 4, Joshua appeared on the Narae Sik YouTube channel, where comedian Park Na Rae brought up a famous viral moment from SEVENTEEN’s Pretty U performance.
The video, titled “Mistakes in dance become art,” shows Joshua dancing half a beat faster than the other members.
Joshua explained what happened, saying, “When I realized I messed up, I thought, ‘Wow, I’m screwed. What do I do now?’ A thousand thoughts went through my head when I raised my hand. I thought, ‘At least I should get this part right,’ so I raised my hand, waited, and jumped back in at the right time.”

Park Na Rae asked if he really cried afterward, and Joshua honestly admitted, “That was the first time I had a lot of parts in a song. I think I got too nervous because I kept thinking, ‘I have to do well.’”

But things took an even more unexpected turn when Park Na Rae brought up SEVENTEEN’s stage at last year’s MAMA Awards.
Laughing, Joshua confessed, “My pants ripped during the ‘Ash’ performance! I had checked them before dancing because I was worried, and they looked fine. But right in the middle of the performance, they ripped wide open. I couldn’t even spread my legs for the choreography.”
He added, “We were on a huge stage with so many other singers and juniors watching. I was so embarrassed, but I didn’t want it to show on my face. I even took off my jacket and tried to cover myself in the middle of the stage.”
Park Na Rae pointed out how Joshua slowly moved to the side, and he replied, “I was hoping if I turned a bit, people wouldn’t notice. But honestly, I kept thinking, ‘Is this really happening right now?’”
Joshua’s honesty and humor made fans love him even more, as they praised him for staying professional during such a tough moment.
