Actress Go Yoon Jung, star of the drama Unsljeon (Some Day, a Wise Resident Life), is getting major attention after her appearance on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block—but it was the director’s playful comment that stole the spotlight!
In the April 30 episode of the show, Go Yoon Jung made her very first appearance on a variety program. She joined a special guest lineup including sinkhole expert Professor Jung Choong Gi, rising child actor Moon Woo Jin, and skilled technician Lim Jung Yeol.
What really got fans talking was when Unsljeon director Shin Won Ho showed up to support her and shared some behind-the-scenes stories. He brought laughs by saying,
“She’s a great actress, but she’s not fully a celebrity yet. She’s like a 5th grade student.”
He added,
“At first, I had a bias because she’s so pretty. But out of all the actors I’ve met, she’s one of the most down-to-earth. People say the way she talks sounds like a 5th grade boy, and I thought that was really charming for her character Oh Yi Young.”
In Unsljeon, Go Yoon Jung plays Oh Yi Young, a nervous but lovable first-year OB-GYN resident. She shared that reading the script felt like “entering the Marvel universe” and said she related a lot to her character, who constantly says “I’m sorry” as she learns how to survive in the hospital world.
She also made everyone laugh by sharing common phrases rookie employees say, proving just how relatable and funny she is off-screen.
The episode also showed Go Yoon Jung drawing cute portraits of hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho, surprising fans with her playful and childlike charm. It was clear she was nervous about her variety debut, but viewers were touched by her honesty and awkward cuteness.
Meanwhile, the other guests also made big impressions. Professor Jung Choong Gi shared eye-opening facts about sinkholes, warning signs, and how to stay safe.
