• NewJeans’ Hyein tells fans “Don’t be sad” in emotional birthday message full of love and hope

NewJeans' Hyein touched many hearts with a handwritten letter to fans, shared on her birthday.

On April 22, Hyein posted several pictures of handwritten letters on the mhdhh_friends Instagram account, which she runs with the other NewJeans members.

In the photos, Hyein responded personally to some of the fan letters she received. She sweetly wrote, “Honestly, I still feel like we haven’t done much for Bunnies (our fandom). Bunnies have given us so much more,” showing how thankful she is.

In another letter, she wrote, “Knowing that strong Bunnies like you are supporting us really gives us strength. I got to reflect again on the important parts of my life that I don’t want to forget.”

She also shared encouraging words, saying, “I believe we can grow stronger by using this hardship as nourishment. Thank you so much for your encouraging words.”

Hyein didn’t stop there. She also wrote a letter addressed “To all Bunnies,” where she said, “Every single letter gave me strength and comfort."

She added, "I honestly wanted to reply to all of them. But since I couldn’t, I’m worried that some Bunnies might feel hurt for not getting a reply.”

She ended with, “I hope you don’t feel too sad. We think of all the Bunnies who support us as equally precious.”

This emotional letter comes during a tough time for NewJeans.

Last November, the group announced that they were ending their exclusive contract with ADOR, their agency. They also introduced a new group name, NJZ, and began working on their own.

However, ADOR took legal action and asked the court to confirm that the exclusive contract was still valid. The agency also tried to stop the group from signing brand deals or continuing their new activities.

In March, the court sided with ADOR, and NewJeans had to pause their independent promotions. Though the group filed an objection, it was denied. They are now appealing the decision.

Despite all the challenges, Hyein’s letter shows that her love and gratitude for fans remains strong.
