• Kim Soo Hyun’s Longtime Fan Cafes Shut Down: "Fans Are Turning Their Backs?"

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is facing intense backlash as shocking rumors continue to spread about his alleged past relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron. Now, even his most loyal fans are distancing themselves, with fan cafes shutting down and brands removing his image from their promotions.

On March 17, Kim Soo Hyun was spotted at Incheon International Airport, heading to Milan, Italy, for an overseas schedule. However, back in Korea, the controversy surrounding him is only getting worse.

One of Kim Soo Hyun’s longest-running fan cafes, Eucharist, has shut down its posts after leaving a final notice on March 12.

The fan cafe, which has been active since 2007 and gathered over 29,000 fans, switched all posts to private mode, effectively pausing its activities.

Meanwhile, a major international fan account, @kimsoohyuniee, which has over 430,000 followers, also announced it would stop posting about the actor. In a shocking move, the account’s owner pinned a farewell message, saying:

"To the actor I once admired, goodbye."

The controversy started when rumors surfaced that Kim Soo Hyun allegedly had a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor.

Although his side denied all allegations, the public backlash has been getting worse as more details emerge.

Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has called the rumors "completely false" and even warned of legal action.
However, testimonies from Kim Sae Ron’s family, along with letters and photos, continue to spread online, fueling speculation.

With his public image taking a hit, the advertising industry is also cutting ties. Several brands have already started removing his images and reconsidering contracts:

K2 Korea and Shabu All Day have deleted his photos from official pages.
Beauty brand Dinto has put all planned promotions on hold.
Homeplus, Tous Les Jours, and Shinhan Financial Group are rethinking their contracts with him.

The entertainment industry is also closely watching how the situation unfolds.

The production team behind Kim Soo Hyun’s upcoming Disney+ drama Knock-Off has temporarily postponed its press conference, which was set for next month.
MBC’s variety show Good Day is reportedly debating whether to edit out Kim Soo Hyun’s footage.
It’s also reported that Kim Soo Hyun will no longer be participating in an upcoming recording of Good Day on March 13.

With fan cafes shutting down, brands pulling away, and entertainment projects being put on hold, many are wondering—can Kim Soo Hyun recover from this controversy? Or will this be the biggest scandal of his career?

What do you think about this situation?

  • Steve Yoo Still Dreaming of Returning to South Korea Shares Emotional Message after 23 Years: "I Love You, Korea"

Singer Steve Yoo (Yoo Seung Jun), who has been banned from entering South Korea for over two decades, continues to express his love for the country and his desire to return.

On March 21, Yoo Seung Jun posted a video on his personal account along with a cryptic caption, saying, “When one door closes, another opens. When one door opens, another closes.”

He continued, “Just because a door has opened doesn’t mean I should leave, and just because one is closed doesn’t mean I shouldn’t try to open it. I am simply walking the path my father told me to take. Whether people acknowledge it or not no longer matters to me.”

His hashtags also caught attention, as he included “I love you,” “Bless you,” “South Korea,” “Loved ones,” “Everything will be okay,” and Korea.” Fans couldn’t help but wonder if he was once again hinting at his hope to return.

Just a few days earlier, on March 18, Yoo Seung Jun had also posted a nostalgic message about his time in South Korea.

He wrote, “December 7, 1989—13 years old (1st year of middle school). The school I attended until the day before I immigrated to the U.S. in Songpa-gu, Oju Middle School, is still the same.”

Along with his message, he shared a video of the school's walls and playground, revealing, “One of my fans filmed my middle school, which I attended until I left for the U.S., and sent me the video.”

The clip also showed scenes of his elementary school, making fans reminisce about his past in Korea.

Yoo Seung Jun was one of the most popular artists in South Korea during the 1990s, but his career took a sharp turn in 2002 when he unexpectedly left for the U.S., renounced his Korean citizenship, and became a U.S. citizen.

This led to widespread backlash, as many saw it as an attempt to evade mandatory military service. As a result, the South Korean government banned him from entering the country.

Since then, he has repeatedly taken legal action in hopes of lifting the ban. Now, with his continued efforts and heartfelt messages about Korea, many are wondering—will he finally be allowed back after 23 years?
