• TWICE’s Dahyun Finally Makes Her Acting Debut — Here’s How the Members Reacted

TWICE’s Dahyun has taken on a brand-new challenge—making her acting debut while still actively promoting as a top K-pop idol!

On February 21, Dahyun starred in the film You Are the Apple of My Eye (also called That Time), a remake of the 2012 Taiwanese hit movie. In the film, she plays Seon-ah, the beautiful and intelligent first love of Jinyoung’s character, Jinwoo.

The movie follows their heartfelt and youthful romance, bringing fresh chemistry to the big screen.

Dahyun’s bold transformation quickly became a hot topic. Fans were surprised to see her wearing a wedding dress and even filming a kiss scene, showing a completely new side of herself that had never been seen before!

In an interview with Star News, Dahyun opened up about her excitement, saying, “It’s finally sinking in that my movie is out. So many people have congratulated me, and I’m really grateful.”

She revealed that acting had been a longtime dream, but her busy schedule with TWICE made it hard to start. “I kept knocking on my agency’s door, telling them I wanted to act. Thankfully, I got an offer for That Time, and that’s how my acting journey began.”

Dahyun also shared a touching childhood memory. “When I was little, I went to the theater with my mom, and she said, ‘Will there ever be a day when we see our Dahyun on the big screen?’ I had forgotten about it, but while filming, the memory suddenly came back. My mom remembered it too. I hope this movie is a meaningful gift to my parents.

Dahyun revealed that she was already a fan of the original movie. “I loved the original, but I had forgotten the details. When I got the script, I thought, ‘Oh! This is the movie I loved so much!’ Plus, I always wanted to play a student in a school uniform, so I really wanted the role.”

She also shared her first-time experiences, saying, “I had crying scenes, fight scenes, and even a kiss scene. It was all new, so I was nervous and excited. Wearing a wedding dress for filming was also a strange but amazing experience.”

Fellow JYP artist 2PM’s Junho, a successful idol-turned-actor, personally encouraged Dahyun. “He came to the premiere and told me, ‘For your first time acting, you did really well. You must have worked hard. If you ever need advice, feel free to ask me anytime.’ His words meant so much to me.”

Of course, TWICE members were right there to support their sister!

“My members surprised me at the premiere with a cake and flowers. I almost cried! They also sent me long messages, telling me I did great and that they support me no matter what.”

And about her kiss scene? Fans were curious, so she laughed and shared, “Apparently, fans asked the members, ‘Are you okay with Dahyun’s kiss scene?’ and one member replied, ‘I’m distressed too’ (laughs). Since they’ve known me since I was really young, they still see me as a baby or their little sister.”

TWICE has broken the infamous ‘7-year curse’ that causes many K-pop groups to disband. Now in their ninth year, they’re still one of the biggest girl groups in the world.

Dahyun expressed her deep love for TWICE, saying, “TWICE is so precious to me. I have no regrets about focusing on group activities all these years. I’ve been happy, and I think my members feel the same way.”

As for TWICE’s long-lasting success, she explained, “All our members love TWICE so much. I think we love TWICE the most (laughs). That’s why we always put so much effort into every album.”

And despite already being global superstars, Dahyun still feels they have more to achieve. “When I see senior artists who have been active for 10 or 20 years, I realize we still have a long way to go. That’s why I want to keep working even harder.”

With her successful acting debut, endless love for TWICE, and big dreams for the future, Dahyun is proving that she’s ready to take on even bigger challenges.

SBS's new fantasy historical drama The Haunted Palace is already making waves both in South Korea and around the world.

Starring Yook Sung Jae and Bona, the show exploded in popularity during its very first week — topping Netflix charts in multiple countries and hitting double-digit TV ratings straight out of the gate.

On Korean television, The Haunted Palace shocked viewers with a strong start. Episode 1 pulled in a peak nationwide rating of 10.7%, instantly breaking the double-digit barrier.

The Seoul area rating and the national average were both 9.2%, making it the highest-rated premiere of any SBS drama in 2025 so far.

It also beat out other SBS dramas like Love Scout and Buried Hearts, and even took the #1 spot among all mini-series aired that week, showing that this drama isn’t just trending — it’s leading the pack. (According to Nielsen Korea)

And the success didn’t stop on TV.

As soon as The Haunted Palace dropped on Netflix, it jumped straight to #1 on “Today’s Top 10 TV Shows in South Korea”, proving its massive popularity on streaming platforms.

Globally, it also ranked #1 in the TV series category in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, showing that international fans are just as hooked.

The drama is also doing incredibly well on South Korea’s own streaming trend charts. On KinoLights — a platform that tracks trends across all streaming services — The Haunted Palace ranked #1 overall, beating both films and dramas. (As of April 19)

Fans are loving the unique story, which mixes fantasy, comedy, and creepy mystery. The drama follows Yeori, a shaman who denies her fate, and Kang Cheol I, a mythical Imoogi spirit trapped inside her first love’s body. Together, they face off against a terrifying ghost called Palcheok Gui — who has a dark grudge against the royal family.

Episode 2 added even more excitement, with Kang Cheol I hilariously struggling to live like a normal human after 1,000 years.

At the same time, Yeori starts hearing the voice of Yoon Gap’s spirit and tries to save him. By the end of the episode, it’s revealed that Prince Wonja (played by Park Jae Joon) is going mad due to Palcheok Gui — and that the ghost has already consumed Yoon Gap’s soul. The showdown between Kang Cheol I, Yeori, and the evil spirit is just getting started.

With high ratings and top OTT rankings, The Haunted Palace is quickly becoming one of the biggest drama hits of the year.
