• Lee Min Ho & Gong Hyo Jin's New Drama "Ask the Stars" Premieres January 4 on tvN

    Actors Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin’s much-awaited new drama Ask the Stars is set to premiere on January 4, 2025, on tvN.

    The new romantic comedy drama tells the story of Eve (played by Gong Hyo Jin), the commander of a space station, and a mysterious guest named Gong Ryong (played by Lee Min Ho), who comes with a secret mission.

    Set in a zero-gravity space station, the drama is the first of its kind in Korea and has already gained a lot of attention.

    Ask the Stars is written by renowned romantic comedy writer Seo Suk Hyang and directed by Park Shin Woo, who is known for creating deeply emotional and engaging stories. This marks the reunion of Gong Hyo Jin and Park Shin Woo after their successful collaboration on the 2016 drama Jealousy Incarnate.

    Additionally, Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin’s first meeting on screen is a major point of excitement for fans, especially with a star-studded supporting cast, including Oh Jung Se, Han Ji Eun, Kim Ju Hun, Lee El, Lee Cho Hee, and Heo Nam Joon.

    Lee Min Ho will play Gong Ryong, a space tourist and a wealthy heir to the MZ Group, who secretly carries a mysterious mission.

    As Gong Ryong stays in the space station for a few days, the drama focuses on his hidden purpose and his suspicious behavior, leaving viewers curious about what his mission might be.

    Gong Hyo Jin will portray Eve Kim, the space station’s commander. Eve is a perfectionist who follows strict rules, determined to complete her mission without mistakes.

    She will face various dangers as she embarks on her first space station assignment. Fans are excited to see how Gong Hyo Jin brings this complex character to life.

    Other notable cast members include Oh Jung Se, who will play Kang Kang Soo, a quirky scientist researching fruit flies at the space station. Kang Soo is a second-generation heir to a global finance group, who unexpectedly ventures into space for a life of risk and adventure.

    Han Ji Eun will play Choi Go Eun, Gong Ryong’s lover, who is also the last heir of the MZ Group. She is portrayed as the ideal woman, admired for her beauty, intelligence, and ability, making her the perfect role model and a dream for many men.

    Supporting characters will be played by Kim Ju Hun as a veteran astronaut, Park Dong Ah, and Lee El as Chief Kang, who manages the space station’s operations from Earth. Lee Cho Hee will take on the role of twin sisters, Mina and Dona Lee, while Heo Nam Joon will play a scientist studying dementia in space, adding a comedic touch to the team.

    The production team promises a captivating storyline with diverse characters whose relationships reflect universal human experiences. The drama will combine a stunning visual effect of the vast universe with an engaging narrative, bringing a never-before-seen space office genre to viewers.

    Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

    On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

    During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

    He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

    The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

    “I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

    He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

    “In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

    Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
