Girl group ILLIT is making waves by topping the newcomer category for the first half of 2024 on Tower Records Japan.
On the 11th, Tower Records Japan announced their first half results (compiled from January 1 to June 30, 2024). ILLIT, featuring members Yoona, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, secured the top spot in the 'New Artist' category in the 'Tower Records Music 2024 First Half Streaming Rankings.' This ranking is based on the total streaming numbers of debut album songs from artists who debuted this year.
ILLIT shared their joy, saying, "Every day we feel happy and grateful for the many people who listen to our songs since our debut. We will continue to strive to grow and become more widely known and loved."

Even without an official debut in Japan, ILLIT is making a huge impact. Their title track 'Magnetic' hit 100 million streams on the Oricon 'Weekly Streaming Ranking' faster than any other female group. They also surpassed 100 million cumulative streams on the Billboard Japan 'Streaming Songs Chart,' becoming the third K-pop artist to achieve this.
'Magnetic' also made it to the top 10 in both the 'Teen Trend Ranking' and 'BGM Ranking' on the 'Line Music 2024 First Half Rankings.' It continues to perform well on major local music charts like Spotify Japan and Apple Music Japan.
ILLIT has already performed at Japan's largest fashion and music festival, the 'Rakuten Girls Award,' and appeared on many popular Japanese TV shows.
Next, ILLIT is set to meet their Chinese fans for the first time by attending the '2024 TMEA 5th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards.'
