• BADVILLAIN Surpasses NewJeans' Records with Explosive Debut

It's a dramatic entry into the music world.

BADVILLAIN, a girl group led by MC Mong, unveiled their debut single "Overstep" on the 3rd, making waves by outpacing NewJeans' records. Their title track "BADVILLAIN" music video hit 8.45 million views in just 12 hours, surpassing the 5 million views New Jeans' "Bubble Check" achieved in the same timeframe.

In just six days since their debut, BADVILLAIN's music video has soared to 32.15 million views as of 4 PM on the 8th, swiftly catching up to the 43.43 million views of "Bubble Check," released a month prior.

This rookie girl group from Big Planet Made Entertainment, formed three years ago, comprises seven standout members, including Emma from Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter," Chloe Young from One Million, and Hui and Yoonseo from MBC's "After School Flutter," alongside Nina and Bin Kelly.

The group's meteoric rise is credited to the unwavering support of their agency and the members' captivating talent. Chairman Cha Gawan, the primary shareholder of Big Planet Made Entertainment and co-founder of parent company One Hundred, spared no expense in nurturing the girl group.

Industry insiders noted, "Unprecedented investment has created an optimal environment for members to focus solely on training. It's rare for a rookie group to debut in such a setup."

The music video's grand scale, akin to a Hollywood blockbuster, has captivated audiences not only in Korea but also internationally.

Resembling the allure of Netflix's "Money Heist," members don masks to portray breaking free from all forms of oppression to claim their desires. The climax, featuring a large-scale dance, offers a refreshing spectacle to the K-pop scene.

MC Mong's signature sound intertwines with BADVILLAIN's identity. The hip-hop-infused dance track "BADVILLAIN" boasts a powerful one-chord beat, majestic orchestral melody, catchy hooks, and distinct rapping.

Another track, "Yaho," showcases their vitality through energetic performances and infectious raps, revealing a different charm.

The agency's support extends beyond the norm. Big Planet Made Entertainment will run BADVILLAIN's debut anniversary billboard ads across Seoul from the 1st to the 30th of this month, alongside bus ads and subway displays from the 29th of last month to the 2nd of next month. Billboard ads will also grace overseas locations such as New York, USA, and Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan.

  • Did G-Dragon Just Call Out Kim Soo Hyun? Fans Suspect Shade in Cryptic SNS post after "Good Day" Cancellation

G-Dragon has sparked a wave of speculation with a cryptic social media post.

On March 20, G-Dragon’s secondary Instagram account shared a screenshot from MBC’s Infinite Challenge, featuring Haha shouting, “Wake up. In this harsh world.” The timing of the post quickly caught attention, as many believe he was subtly addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun.

Fans are speculating that G-Dragon might be throwing shade at Kim Soo Hyun, a fellow 88s member, who recently faced backlash after Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) accused him of dating the late Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor.

Kim Soo Hyun, who had been appearing on Good Day alongside G-Dragon, Jung Hae In, Im Si Wan, and Hwang Kwang Hee, denied the allegations, stating that he and Kim Sae Ron only started dating after she became an adult.

However, Gaseyeon kept fueling the scandal by releasing a controversial photo of a man, allegedly Kim Soo Hyun, doing dishes without wearing pants.

With the controversy growing, many demanded Kim Soo Hyun be removed from the show, and ultimately, the episode scheduled to air on March 23 was canceled.

Now, G-Dragon’s post has fans wondering—was it just a random upload, or is he trying to send a message to Kim Soo Hyun?
