G-Dragon Snatches Back "G-DRAGON" Trademark from YG Entertainment
In a significant development, G-Dragon has successfully reclaimed the rights to his name from YG Entertainment.
Official documents confirm that G-Dragon regained the trademark for his name on May 17. Just four days later, on May 21, the trademark was transferred to Galaxy Corporation, his current agency.
Previously, YG Entertainment had held the trademark for the name “G-Dragon” for over 20 years, dating back to 2003.
Interestingly, G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, had chosen “G-Dragon” as his stage name in 2001—two years before YG Entertainment secured the trademark.
This development marks a significant milestone for the artist, allowing him to fully assert his identity and brand. ?
