• Oh My Girl's Hyojung shocks fans with new super short haircut

    Oh My Girl member Hyojung has recently debuted a bold new look with a short haircut.

    On April 15th, the Seoul Arts Group shared pictures of Hyojung's first musical, 'A Thousand Blues,' on their official social media platforms. Hyojung is slated to play the lead character, Yeonjae, in the musical which is set to premiere in May.

    Fans who saw the pictures of Hyojung were quick to express their excitement and support for her upcoming musical debut. Comments like "Impressive. Proud," "Hyojung, fighting," and "Already looking forward to it," flooded the post, showing their anticipation for her first musical.

    'A Thousand Blues' is a musical adaptation of the award-winning novel by Cheon Seon Ran. The story, which won the grand prize in the long novel category at the 4th Korean Science Literature Awards in 2019, explores the beautiful bonds of friendship and unity among different species through the tales of a robot named Collie, a racehorse named Today, and their human companions.

    In the musical, Hyojung will portray the character of Yeonjae, who rescues a humanoid robot C-27, nicknames it Collie, and repairs it. Her performance is highly anticipated.

    In a statement released through her agency, WM Entertainment, Hyojung expressed her feelings about her upcoming musical debut. She said, "As it's my first time challenging a musical, I'm really nervous and excited," and "I've wanted to challenge a new stage for a long time. I'm happy to feel like I've taken one step closer to that dream."

    'A Thousand Blues' is scheduled to run at the CJ Towol Theater in the Seoul Arts Center from May 12th to 26th.

    In other news, Hyojung continues to make her presence felt in various entertainment programs. She recently appeared on MBC every1's 'Great Guide' and KBS's 'Dogs are Incredible,' and is also set to appear on Channel A's new entertainment program 'Shrinking Secretaries' in June.

    Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

    On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

    During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

    He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

    The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

    “I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

    He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

    “In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

    Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
