ILLIT, the new girl group under HYBE's label Billy Wrap, has made history by debuting on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart with their debut song "Magnetic."
This achievement marks the first time a rookie K-pop group has entered the prestigious Hot 100 chart with their debut track.
"Magnetic," released on March 25, debuted at No. 91 on the Hot 100 chart on April 20, making ILLIT the first K-pop act to achieve this feat with their debut song.

Prior to this, only individual K-pop artists who ventured into solo activities after debuting as part of a group had entered the Hot 100 chart with their solo debut tracks. Notably, Jungkook of BTS topped the Hot 100 chart with his solo debut song "Seven" last year.
ILLIT's rapid ascent to the Hot 100 chart is particularly noteworthy, as they achieved this milestone just 22 days after their debut, setting a record as the K-pop group with the shortest period between debut and entry into the Hot 100 chart.
This achievement surpasses the record set by the group "Fifty Fifty," who entered the Hot 100 chart 130 days after their debut with the song "Cupid."

With their debut on the Hot 100 chart, ILLIT joins the ranks of other K-pop girl groups like Wonder Girls, BLACKPINK, TWICE, NewJeans, Fifty Fifty, and LE SSERAFIM, who have previously entered the chart. Among these groups, Wonder Girls entered the Hot 100 chart with their American debut song "Nobody."
The Hot 100 chart, considered a significant indicator of a K-pop act's popularity in the US pop market, presents a higher barrier to entry compared to the Billboard 200 album chart. It takes into account various factors such as physical and digital music sales, streaming figures, radio airplay, and YouTube views to gauge a song's performance.
ILLIT's success on the Hot 100 chart reflects their global appeal and popularity, showcasing their ability to captivate audiences beyond traditional K-pop fan bases.
With their debut album "SUPER REAL ME" and its title track "Magnetic," ILLIT has made a remarkable entry into the international music scene, solidifying their status as a promising new girl group under HYBE's banner.
Moving forward, ILLIT will continue their momentum with the follow-up song "Lucky Girl Syndrome" from their debut album "SUPER REAL ME," aiming to achieve further success in the music industry.
