• "We only wish him the best" BIGBANG Fans Shocked as TOP Reveals Personal Exit from the Group

TOP Announces Personal Departure from BIGBANG.

Seoul - In a surprising revelation, TOP, formerly a member of the renowned K-pop group BIGBANG, has declared his voluntary withdrawal from the group.

On the 31st of May, TOP took to his Instagram account to address his departure.

Responding to a fan's inquiry about his status within BIGBANG, TOP clarified in the comments, stating, "I have already mentioned that I am leaving BIGBANG."

He further expressed, "I am embarking on a new chapter in my life."

In a notable gesture, TOP shared a screenshot on his Instagram story, featuring an article with the descriptor 'BIGBANG' preceding his name.

Notably, he placed an 'X' mark over the words 'BIGBANG,' symbolically denying any association. Additionally, TOP removed the 'BIGBANG' reference from a post where Swings mentioned him.

TOP originally debuted as part of the five-member group BIGBANG in 2006 under the management of YG Entertainment, alongside G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri.

However, in 2017, TOP encountered legal trouble due to involvement in a marijuana case while fulfilling his duties as a conscripted police officer.

Consequently, he received a suspended sentence of 10 months in prison.

Following the incident, TOP continued to participate in BIGBANG's digital single, 'Still Life,' until April of the previous year.

It should be noted that his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment had already expired at that time.

Meanwhile, TOP has hinted at an upcoming solo comeback by sharing a video on his Instagram, presumably captured in his studio space, and mentioning his ongoing work on his forthcoming album.

Fans and industry insiders eagerly await further developments regarding TOP's solo career and the future direction of BIGBANG without their former member.

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
