• Netizens discuss the reasons why Oh My Girl isn’t as popular as they used to be

Netizens are talking about why Oh My Girl might not be as popular as it used to be.

On October 5, a post about Oh My Girl began trending on Nate's community board Pann under the title, "Why, in your opinion, has Oh My Girl lost their buzzworthiness?".

The netizen who wrote the post stated, "Since 'Queendom' came out in 2019 and 'Nonstop', 'Dolphin', and 'Dun Dun Dance' came out in 2021, they have become more popular. They were number 26 on the annual streaming charts, and a single video on their fans' YouTube channels got more than a million views. Arin became a BYC model and an MC".

The netizen added, "But all of a sudden, people became much less interested. I thought they were going to be around for a long time because their popularity grew steadily. I wanted them to be the Girls' Generation and A Pink of the third generation of girl groups. Why is this drop happening?".

The poster then said that there are long-running girl groups whose songs have made it to #1 even after they have been together for ten years. There were songs like "Why So Lonely" by Wonder Girls, "Dumhdurum" by A Pink, and "Lion Heart" by Girls' Generation.

In the comments section, netizens wrote:

"The 4th generation has started, and because female idols compete with each other, they made a comeback once a year. The fact that their comeback 'Real Love' didn't do well had a lot to do with this"

"Their new songs were not as good as their old ones, and the new girl groups became very popular"

"They need good songs, but this year's comeback wasn't that great. The public makes it possible for female idols to stay in business."

"Their recycling is way too strict. Their music video for 'Real Love' was a copy and paste of 'Dun Dun Dance.'"

"Even though people say that female idols also have strong fanbases and all that, they still depend on the general public a lot. But Oh My Girl only came back once a year, and Arin, who everyone knows, didn't get any solo activities after her MC contract ended. She made a drama, but not a lot of people watched it. Besides, they don't make any noise."

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
