Suzy might be taking on a dramatic new role — this time as a powerful empress surrounded by male concubines.

On May 12, OSEN reported that Suzy is currently reviewing an offer to star as the female lead in the upcoming live-action drama The Men of the Harem.

The drama is based on the popular Naver web novel of the same name by author Alpha Tart. Set in the fictional Tarim Empire, the story follows Empress Latil, who builds her own harem of men to help secure her power and survive palace politics.

The novel was a massive hit, gaining over 21.4 million downloads between 2020 and 2023. It was also turned into a webtoon and became popular both in Korea and internationally. Ever since, fans have been hoping for a live-action version — and it looks like it's finally happening.

If Suzy accepts the role, she’ll play Empress Latil, a strong yet vulnerable ruler trying to protect her throne while navigating love, betrayal, and power struggles.

Fans are especially excited since the drama will be directed by Lee Eung Bok, the talent behind hits like Goblin, Mr. Sunshine, and Sweet Home.
