The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the 2026 nominees on September 23, with Park Ji Hyun earning a Best Performance by an Actress nomination for Netflix’s *You and Everything Else*.
The nomination is especially notable because it marks the first time a Korean actress has been nominated in an acting category at the International Emmys.
Park Ji Hyun starred in *You and Everything Else* alongside Kim Go Eun, with both actresses receiving positive reactions for their performances.
Kim Go Eun previously received major domestic recognition when she won the Grand Prize at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards in July. Park Ji Hyun did not take home a major acting award for the drama in Korea, but her performance has now gained recognition on the international stage.
Amid the news, Son Ye Jin’s earlier comments about Park Ji Hyun have resurfaced.
After watching *You and Everything Else*, Son Ye Jin specifically praised Park Ji Hyun’s acting, saying, *“Everyone already knows Kim Go Eun is good, but I was really surprised while watching Park Ji Hyun’s performance.”*
Her comment drew attention because she singled out Park Ji Hyun despite the drama also featuring the already highly regarded Kim Go Eun.
Now that Park Ji Hyun has earned a historic International Emmy nomination, Son Ye Jin’s earlier praise is being revisited by fans as a sign that the veteran actress had already noticed her performance.
Park Ji Hyun is nominated alongside Mona Mina Leon for *Holy Sh!t*, Bárbara Mori for *Lucca’s World*, and Sheridan Smith for *I Fought the Law*.
