Son Ye Jin opened up about a side of herself that people around her may not always notice, revealing that she cares deeply for her co-stars and staff but sometimes struggles to express those feelings.
The actress appeared with Ji Chang Wook and Nana in a recent *Lifeplus Weekly HOT & NEW* video while promoting their project *The Scandal*.
During the conversation, the three stars were asked about their personal way of winning people’s hearts.
Ji Chang Wook explained that earning the trust of the people he works with is important to him.
He said, *“If I can’t give confidence to the people on the same set, it feels difficult and scary. Winning the hearts of the people I work with is the first step.”*
He added that sincerity is his main approach, saying, *“I think sincerity is the only way. If you invest your time and show that you’re working hard, someone will eventually feel it.”*
Son Ye Jin jokingly responded, *“I didn’t feel it.”*
Ji Chang Wook quickly played along and replied, *“You’re the only person I failed with. I tried to steal Ye Jin sunbaenim’s heart, but I failed,”* drawing laughter.
The lighthearted exchange then led Son Ye Jin to speak more seriously about how she treats people on set.
*“Like Chang Wook, I have so much affection for the staff and the actors I work with, and I want to treat them well, but I’m not very good at expressing it,”* she admitted.
Son Ye Jin explained that much of her attention goes toward making sure she delivers a strong performance.
*“I’m too busy dealing with my own work,”* she said. *“I worry that if I don’t act well on set, the staff might be disappointed.”*
She added that she wants to show her best work to the director and set a good example for younger actors, which sometimes leaves her with little energy to openly express how much she cares for everyone around her.
Ji Chang Wook, however, said Son Ye Jin’s presence gave him confidence during filming. He described her as *“the pillar and center of the project,”* adding that she felt dependable and gave him someone he could trust and lean on.
Son Ye Jin then shared the feelings she often leaves a production without fully expressing.
*“I wanted to take care of everyone, but I had to stay focused on the set. I always finish a project carrying those feelings,”* she said.
She ended by telling the cast and crew directly, *“I want to take this opportunity to say that I really love the staff and actors.”*
Son Ye Jin married fellow actor Hyun Bin in 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child later that year.
