Girls’ Generation members surprised viewers by openly sharing their acting ambitions and even sending playful messages to some of Korea’s most famous film directors.
During the September 16 episode of YouTube program Hyoyeon’s Level Up, the members appeared as part of their latest HyoRiSoo project and talked about their individual charms and future goals.
The conversation turned to acting when Park Seul Gi praised Sooyoung’s expressive reactions and suggested that she could continue pursuing acting.
Yuri then revealed, “She says her dream is to become an actress.”
Sooyoung confirmed that she has been actively preparing, saying, “I’m also working hard and taking acting lessons.”

She then decided to make a direct pitch to directors she hopes to work with someday.
Addressing Bong Joon Ho, Sooyoung said, “Director Bong Joon Ho, hello. I’m Choi Sooyoung. I’m practicing hard, and I graduated from Chung-Ang University’s Department of Theater and Film.”
Yuri jokingly pointed out that mentioning her university class year could reveal her age, but Sooyoung continued without hesitation.
“Director, I’ll work hard,” she added.
Yuri then joined in with her own playful appeal, saying, “Director, I also went to Chung-Ang University. I’m from the 52nd class. Director Park Chan Wook, I’ll work hard.”
Sooyoung also called out to Na Hong Jin, enthusiastically greeting the filmmaker as she continued showing her determination to take on more acting opportunities.
The lighthearted conversation highlighted the members’ unexpected ambition to expand further into acting, with both Sooyoung and Yuri openly expressing interest in working with major Korean directors in the future.
