Young K jokes close friend Heo Nam Jun replies less after rising popularity and reveals how their group chat keeps teasing him

DAY6’s Young K shared funny stories about his close friendship with actors Heo Nam Jun and Kim Do Hoon during episode 151 of the web variety show Salon Drip, released on August 4.

Young K explained that the three friends have a group chat called “Samhap Society,” named after a meal they once shared together. He said their recent conversations have focused on Heo Nam Jun’s growing popularity through his role as Cha Se Gye in the drama Wonderful New World.

Young K jokingly said, “He has entered the path of success. His messages have definitely become less frequent, and his callbacks are getting slower.”

Host Jang Do Yeon played along and replied, “That is usually how it goes.”

Young K continued that he and Kim Do Hoon often tease Heo Nam Jun about becoming a star. He said, “We tell him, ‘You are appearing everywhere now, even on Salon Drip. You have really changed.’ A few hours later, he replies, ‘I’m not like that.’ He is secretly sensitive.”

He also revealed that he enjoys embarrassing Heo Nam Jun with playful comments. Young K said he once told him, “Nam Jun, you need to take your shirt off. I think you look better that way.”

According to Young K, Heo Nam Jun responded, “Why are you really like this? Stop it.” Young K added that Heo Nam Jun becomes shy and easily turns red when teased.

Young K also spoke about recording an original soundtrack connected to his friends’ project. He explained, “We talked about how fun it would be if my voice appeared in the same project. I told them, ‘Will you invite me? If you ask, I will do it anytime.’”

He said singing an OST feels special because DAY6 usually writes and composes its own music. Young K added, “It is rare for me to sing a song written by someone else. If it is also for a project involving friends I like, it is an honor.”

However, he admitted that hearing his voice during his friend’s romantic scenes felt slightly awkward.

He joked, “It is difficult to watch my friend working while my voice plays during a very sweet romantic scene. They probably feel the same way when they attend my concerts.”
