SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis” delivered another intense episode as Lim Ji Yeon’s character Shin Seo Ri faced a shocking accident in the final scene.

Episode 10, which aired on June 6, showed Shin Seo Ri and Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun, moving forward in their romance after confirming their feelings for each other. The two shared sweet moments, went on an official date, and promised to stay by each other’s side.

Shin Seo Ri honestly told Cha Se Gye, “I am not a woman from Joseon anymore. I will not hold back my feelings or suffer alone”.

She also promised him, “I will not leave you alone. You can trust me”. Cha Se Gye answered, “You promised, Shin Seo Ri. There is no turning back now”, giving viewers a strong romantic moment.

The episode also continued to show tension inside Chail Group. Choi Moon Do, played by Jang Seung Jo, was moved to the U.S. branch, making Cha Se Gye’s possible succession more likely. Cha Se Gye also warned him, saying, “Stop playing tricks from behind and come at me directly”.

However, danger soon followed Shin Seo Ri. After her clothes were damaged and her grandmother was pressured into signing a land contract, Seo Ri confronted Choi Moon Do directly. Remembering how she had once been used in the past, she declared, “I will not be shaken by that kind of threat anymore”.

The emotional conflict between Seo Ri and Se Gye also grew after Se Gye became angry over Seo Ri being placed in danger. He told her, “I hate seeing you and Choi Moon Do get involved. Just hide behind me.” Seo Ri, hurt by his words, replied, “You hurt me more by treating me like someone who knows nothing.”

The biggest shock came near the end of the episode. Cha Dal Soo, played by Yoon Joo Sang, met Seo Ri and made it clear that he did not see her as the right match for Se Gye. He told her, “People who are both lonely should not lean on each other”. Soon after, a mysterious truck suddenly rushed toward Seo Ri and Dal Soo.

The episode ended with Seo Ri covered in blood and losing consciousness while missing Se Gye’s phone call. The sudden crash left viewers wondering who was behind the accident and what will happen next.

“My Royal Nemesis” also continued its strong ratings streak. Episode 10 recorded a peak rating of 11.3%, 10.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 9.9% nationwide. It ranked No. 1 among weekend miniseries and No. 1 among all weekly miniseries. Its 2049 rating also reached an average of 2.6% and a peak of 3.05%, taking No. 1 among all Saturday broadcasts.

After the broadcast, viewers reacted strongly online, saying, “How am I supposed to wait until next week?” “The ending was so powerful,” “Seo Ri and Se Gye’s story is so good,” and “There was not a single boring moment”.

“My Royal Nemesis” airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM on SBS.
