Jang Seung Jo is drawing attention for his powerful double role in SBS’s Friday Saturday drama “My Royal Nemesis”.
The actor is receiving praise for playing two very different villain characters in one drama. His detailed acting has led viewers to call him a “genre changer”, as his scenes often shift the mood from romantic comedy to suspense.
In “My Royal Nemesis”, Jang Seung Jo plays Choi Moon Do, a calm and smart modern villain who quietly controls the situation.
He also plays Crown Prince Lee Jae, a cold royal figure who is willing to do anything for power. Through these two roles, he adds more tension and depth to the story without giving away too much of the plot.
Jang Seung Jo previously gained attention for another double villain role in Netflix’s “As You Stood By”, where he played two characters with very different personalities. His ability to separate each role through his voice, gaze, and movement received strong praise from viewers.
“My Royal Nemesis” is also showing strong ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, episode 8, which aired on May 30, recorded 10.4% nationwide and 10.7% in the Seoul metropolitan area. The drama ranked No. 1 in its time slot, while its highest moment rating rose to 13.7%.
With two successful double villain roles in a row, Jang Seung Jo is proving his wide acting range and strengthening his image as one of the most memorable villains on screen.
“My Royal Nemesis” airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM on SBS.
